Vintage 2021

Our St. Laurent selection 2021 came from the Ried Gestein in Teesdorf, and it has since sold out at the estate. The harvest was on 29 September. The vines had made a late start that year, only budding towards the end of April. Austrian vineyards were spared spring frost in 2021, though.

In the glass it showed a finely spiced bouquet and gentle sour cherry notes. Nothing is left of the 1.500 litres. The St. Laurent selection 2021 was recognised with gold at the Lower Austria State Wine Awards.

Ried Gestein

The grapes for St. Laurent selection 2021 grow in the Ried Gestein vineyard in Teesdorf, on pure gravel that holds hardly any water and naturally has little humus. Its rows are green all year, sown with clover, phacelia and buckwheat instead of grass. We use no herbicides.

How we care for the soil
