Our Riesling classic is a Teesdorf wine, from Ried Hutweide. Its grapes came in on 27 September 2023. The year ran late in Austria: the vines did not bud until the end of April.

It is fruity, with a piquant minerality behind it. The batch came to 2.500 litres. The Riesling classic 2023 earned gold at the Lower Austria State Wine Awards 2024, gold at AWC Vienna 2024 and gold at the Thermenregion Wine Awards 2025.

Ried Hutweide
The grapes for Riesling classic 2023 grow in the Ried Hutweide vineyard in Teesdorf, on pure gravel that holds hardly any water and naturally has little humus. Its rows are green all year, sown with clover, phacelia and buckwheat instead of grass. We use no herbicides.
The 2023 harvest
The must for Riesling classic 2023 measured 19.5 °KMW: the Klosterneuburg must scale shows how much sugar is in the grape juice, one degree being roughly one per cent.
What the figures say
Riesling classic 2023 has 12.4 % vol. alcohol, 7.4 g/l residual sugar and 6.5 g/l acidity. It is made in a dry style, which under wine law means no more than 4 g/l residual sugar, or up to 9 g/l if the acidity is at most 2 g/l lower.
The sugar-free extract of Riesling classic 2023 is 19.2 g/l: everything dissolved in the wine apart from water, alcohol and sugar, such as minerals, acids and tannins. In the laboratory, it showed 32 mg/l free and 73 mg/l total sulphur. Per 100 ml, it has 312 kJ or 75 kcal. It received the official inspection number N 11137/24 after being analysed in the laboratory and tasted by an official panel.

Riesling classic 2023 belongs to our Classic line: true-to-variety wines that are enjoyable while young. It rests on the full lees until December and on the fine lees until March, without malolactic conversion.
