For Intuition we bring together St. Laurent, Pinot noir and Zweigelt, all three from the Ried Hutweide in Teesdorf. It was picked in mid-October 2021. Spring was cool and the vines only budded at the end of April. Austria was spared late frosts that year.

What came out is a seductive red, velvety and round. The batch comes to 2.000 litres. At competitions the Intuition cuvée reserve 2021 collected a place in the Thermenregion Top 100 2023, 90 points from Falstaff and 91 points at the Organic Wine Award International.

Ried Hutweide
The grapes for Intuition cuvée reserve 2021 grow in the Ried Hutweide vineyard in Teesdorf, on pure gravel that holds hardly any water and naturally has little humus. Its rows are green all year, sown with clover, phacelia and buckwheat instead of grass. We use no herbicides.
The 2021 harvest
The must for Intuition cuvée reserve 2021 measured 21 °KMW: the Klosterneuburg must scale shows how much sugar is in the grape juice, one degree being roughly one per cent.
What the figures say
Intuition cuvée reserve 2021 has 13.6 % vol. alcohol, 1.0 g/l residual sugar and 5.4 g/l acidity. It is made in a dry style, which under wine law means no more than 4 g/l residual sugar, or up to 9 g/l if the acidity is at most 2 g/l lower.
The sugar-free extract of Intuition cuvée reserve 2021 is 29.0 g/l: everything dissolved in the wine apart from water, alcohol and sugar, such as minerals, acids and tannins. In the laboratory, it showed 35 mg/l free and 63 mg/l total sulphur. Per 100 ml, it has 328 kJ or 79 kcal. It received the official inspection number N 20850/23 after being analysed in the laboratory and tasted by an official panel.
