Wine description

Verjus u. Blüte is our spritzer that skips the wine altogether: verjus, elderflower and soda. It is alcohol-free, fresh with acidity and sparkling. The blossom in the name stands for the elderflower.

Winemaking

Verjus & Blüte is not a wine but an alcohol-free mixed drink. The ingredients in descending order: water, verjus, elderflower syrup made from water, sugar, lemons and elderflowers, plus carbon dioxide. Verjus, syrup, sugar, lemons and elderflowers come from organic farming.

Verjus is the juice of unripe wine grapes, in our case from Merlot picked green. More on the page Verjus.

The Guntramsdorf wine laboratory analysed Verjus & Blüte in November 2025: 4.8 g/l acidity, 47.3 g/l sugar, pH 2.99. The sweetness comes from the elderflower syrup. The energy value is 19 kcal per 100 ml.

Serving suggestion

Well chilled from the 0.33 l bottle or in a glass with ice. For hot days, for the drive home and for the Heuriger table, when it should be alcohol-free for once.

With wine instead of verjus, the same idea is called Kaiser Spritzer.
