The Purist Souvignier gris grows in Ried Steinhäufel in Leobersdorf. We picked it on 7 October 2020, right in the window when the main harvest in Austria had been expected. Cool nights had been forecast as well.

In the glass it has an amber gleam. Fermented on the skins, untreated and unfiltered, with spicy aromas, ripe stone fruit and a firm structure. The batch: 1.000 litres. At competitions the Purist Souvignier gris 2020 collected gold at the Austrian PIWI competition, 98 points at PIWI International and 94 points at the Wine Award International.

Ried Steinhäufel
The grapes for Purist Souvignier gris 2020 grow in the Ried Steinhäufel vineyard in Leobersdorf. Its rows are green all year, sown with clover, phacelia and buckwheat instead of grass. We use no herbicides.
The 2020 harvest
The must for Purist Souvignier gris 2020 measured 22 °KMW: the Klosterneuburg must scale shows how much sugar is in the grape juice, one degree being roughly one per cent.
What the figures say
Purist Souvignier gris 2020 has 14.6 % vol. alcohol, 1.9 g/l residual sugar and 5.7 g/l acidity. It is made in a dry style, which under wine law means no more than 4 g/l residual sugar, or up to 9 g/l if the acidity is at most 2 g/l lower.
The sugar-free extract of Purist Souvignier gris 2020 is 22.9 g/l: everything dissolved in the wine apart from water, alcohol and sugar, such as minerals, acids and tannins. In the laboratory, it showed 18 mg/l free and 75 mg/l total sulphur. Per 100 ml, it has 354 kJ or 85 kcal. It received the official inspection number N 21858/21 after being analysed in the laboratory and tasted by an official panel.
