Vintage 2022
We picked the Pinot blanc selection in Ried Hutweide in Teesdorf on 8 October 2022. Austria's whites from that year were said to have turned out ripe and fruit-driven. Ours has a straw-yellow shimmer with a hint of gold, white peach and pear, a few blossom notes, with the oak staying discreetly in the background. On the palate it is smooth and creamy, with a touch of vanilla and almond.

Ried Hutweide
The grapes for Pinot blanc selection 2022 grow in the Ried Hutweide vineyard in Teesdorf, on pure gravel that holds hardly any water and naturally has little humus. Its rows are green all year, sown with clover, phacelia and buckwheat instead of grass. We use no herbicides.
The 2022 harvest
The must for Pinot blanc selection 2022 measured 19.5 °KMW: the Klosterneuburg must scale shows how much sugar is in the grape juice, one degree being roughly one per cent.
What the figures say
Pinot blanc selection 2022 has 12.6 % vol. alcohol, 5.7 g/l residual sugar and 5.5 g/l acidity. It is made in a dry style, which under wine law means no more than 4 g/l residual sugar, or up to 9 g/l if the acidity is at most 2 g/l lower.
The sugar-free extract of Pinot blanc selection 2022 is 18.8 g/l: everything dissolved in the wine apart from water, alcohol and sugar, such as minerals, acids and tannins. In the laboratory, it showed 37 mg/l free and 98 mg/l total sulphur. Per 100 ml, it has 313 kJ or 75 kcal. It received the official inspection number N 17106/23 after being analysed in the laboratory and tasted by an official panel.
The Selection line
Pinot blanc selection 2022 belongs to our Selection line, which is allowed to mature longer than Classic. It matures roughly half in 500-litre wooden casks and half in stainless steel.
